Not a 2JZ, but still looks like a very well made engine. Well done BMW.

Awww yeah, that sweet, sweet B58. Also S58 in a bit, 500 HP!

It's not classic, but BMW has always been the inline-6 company. Remember when Toyota got sued for the cam tower design copying on the M engine?

They make fantastic I6s, and the classic ones (M-series engines, not the N-series/NG engines) make you feel like they used to be German Honda: small company that makes enthusiast-oriented cars that are logically designed by car guys to be worked on.

^that's what I'm talking about, son!

EDIT: my bad, didn't mean to derail/wax poetic (I'm a terrible waxer).

I LOVEEEEEE the I-6 my favourite engine, well I haven't driven a V12. BMW makes excellent engines but sadly everything attached to it is often sketchy.

I can sorta see why BMW sued you gotta admit the cam cover is a dead copy.

Most definitely. At least they didn't hold a grudge with this new collab lol.

I recommend any late-'80's/'90s BMW I6. Fantastic for a driver.

V12 car is also on my bucket list lol, got friends pushing for Toyota Century import, but a BMW 850i is just so tempting...

I'm still mad Toyota doesn't make their own inline 6 anymore. On the Supra anyone know if they are using Toyota electronics? I'm thinking not since there is almost nothing Toyota in the car.

They spun some BS about tuning the engine themselves. AKA, the Z4 will be better to prevent anybody really forgetting that it's a Bimmer.

The I6 has become a boutique engine, like a V12

Once the car is out warranty I have feeling people won't be able to forget who makes the thing.

Lol ain't that the truth. For real, 85% of my income comes from 2003+ Bimmers.
